Kathrine Peereboom
Kathrine Peereboom is an award-winning disability advocate, entrepreneur, speaker and most importantly, a mum and lifelong carer to her three sons with profound disabilities.
For Kathrine, caring is not something she has observed from the outside. It has shaped her family, her career and the woman she has become.
Her lived experience has driven more than a decade of advocacy focused on creating safer, more inclusive communities for people with disability and the families who support them. She is the founder of Spectrum Support, which pioneered disability training for Australian law enforcement, Founder and CEO of safety technology company iSafe Connect and Founder of Danceable, an inclusive dance program creating a place where people of all abilities can experience movement, connection and belonging.
Kathrine is also a national speaker and passionate advocate for families whose lives and experiences are too often unseen within our systems and communities.
Her connection to The Carers Foundation Australia is deeply personal.
She understands the extraordinary love that comes with caring for someone you love, but also the exhaustion, isolation and responsibility that can sit quietly behind it. She believes carers should never have to reach breaking point before somebody asks, “But who is caring for you?”
As an Ambassador, Kathrine is proud to use both her lived experience and professional voice to help carers feel seen, heard, valued and supported because the people who spend their lives caring for others deserve to be cared for too.
